Our memory care unit is a separate, self-contained unit that provides the utmost safety for all of our residents. Our goal is to provide an evidenced-based environment and programming for residents to maintain their highest quality of life. Our care team members are specially-trained in all types of dementia and are chosen for their kindness and compassion. Personalized care and activity plans are created to optimize the health of each resident throughout their memory loss journey.

The programming includes activities that are individualized and range from one-on-one activities to small group outings. We encourage and support family involvement, when possible, in order to maintain support of our residents and their loved ones. The use of award-winning technology keeps our residents safe and gives their family peace of mind. Research findings drive evidenced-base care plans for each and every resident.

Evidence-Based Design & Strategies

There are numerous research studies which look into the impacts colors make on the human brain, specifically those with dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. Our memory care suites are painted blue to promote a calming, soothing atmosphere as found in research studies.

Red Plate Study

Red plates are used for our residents with dementia based on the Red Plate Study, which found that individuals who are served food on red plates ate 25 percent more food than those who ate on white plates.

Aquarium

An aquarium is displayed in our common area, which has been proven to play an important role in enhancing the wellbeing of individuals with Alzheimer’s and dementia. Aquariums have calming effects, which can lower blood pressure and enhance positive moods. They can also help with nutritional intake if they’re placed near dining areas.
